Data Encryption Software Product Overview
Since 1981, Prime Factors has provided cost-effective, general-purpose data encryption software to more than 1,000 customers world-wide. They use our data encryption software to create solutions that protect data in motion, data at rest and cardholder data throughout its life cycle from secure card manufacturing through use and storage.
Key characteristics of our encryption software reflect the needs of our customer base – cross platform compatibility and flexibility. We create flexible encryption software because our customers have such diverse needs for data encryption, tokenization and key management. Many customers use our software to create data encryption and tokenization solutions for a distributed environment on large computers such as IBM mainframes and smaller servers (UNIX, Linux) and PCS.

Our data encryption software delivers a wide range of protection from securing data at the field level to encrypting and authenticating fields in a database to implementing application-level encryption. Prime Factors' product offering includes the Psypher Security Suite that protects data in motion, EncryptRIGHT® that secures data in databases, business applications as well as customer facing applications, and the Bank Card Security System (BCSS) that provides cost-effective functionality for issuing and verifying credit, debit and prepaid cards.

EncryptRIGHT, our newest offering, provides a better way to achieve PCI data encryption compliance by simplifying key management and reducing the cost of deployment. EncryptRIGHT was designed from the ground up to meet security threats, accelerate deployments, and satisfy auditors that sensitive data is safeguarded. EncryptRIGHT runs on all major operating systems, provides broad application development support and can be implemented by programmers and non-programmers alike. EncryptRIGHT makes it easy for non-programmer to determine what data to protect, how to protect it and to assign the security level of employees and key management policies. EncryptRIGHT simplifies programming, and facilitates a rapid application development environment. You can encrypt or tokenize specific data without the need to change your application.

BCSS is used world-wide by leading secure card issuers and secure personalization bureaus to reduce software development and operational costs. It is the cost-effective alternative to software development required to build key management from scratch and replicate compliance requirements for the generation and authorization of security codes and PINs. BCSS eliminates time-consuming tasks such as learning new technologies and developing software systems that meet logical security requirements established by the network brands - Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB. Customers rely on BCSS to keep them current with the latest logical security mandates from the network brands such as the use of hardware cryptography for key management. BCSS also gives customers a migration path to EMV, which has much more complex key management requirements.
BCSS was designed to be incorporated into your card issuing platform, allowing you to select the functionality you need to meet the network brands' requirements for logical security. Some customers use BCSS primarily for key management, which is vital for secure card issuing and authorization.

The Psypher Security Suite gives you the ultimate protection of transactions within your business trading community. The suite of four software products lets you encrypt and authenticate at the field level, protecting data longer than transport level security. It supports hub-spoke configurations and a variety of e-commerce protocols (OpenPGP, X12, EDIFACT). Psypher uses strong, industry-accepted algorithms, and is cross platform compatible, giving you flexibility to deploy on a wide range of large computers and PCs.
- PsypherEDI
Provides a proprietary security envelope for transaction files with any format. Particularly well suited for large files and communications between ASCII and EBCDIC computers.
- PsypherX12
Supports the internal X12.58 security structures that protect X12- formatted business transaction files. This is a popular standard in the USA and Canada for the finance, healthcare and insurance industries.
- PsypherEDIFACT
Supports the internal ISO 9735 security structures that protect EDIFACT formatted business transaction files. This is particularly popular for securing business communications outside the USA and Canada.
- PsypherOPS
Supports the popular OpenPGP standard as specified in RFC 2440. Compatible with many other popular Open PGP products. This supports native zOS environment on IBM mainframes.
