STK Toolkit

Many companies have taken an important step toward preventing enterprise data loss by developing a formal security plan. The STK Toolkit gives you the flexibility you need to implement security exactly as it is defined in your plan.

With the STK Toolkit, you can secure data resting in databases, business applications and customer facing applications. It lets you encrypt data in batch or real-time on large and small computers. You can encrypt and authenticate fields, records or whole files on disk or tape.

Our customers use the STK Toolkit to encrypt individual data items such as names, salary amounts, accounts numbers, SSNs, PINs, image files, and passwords, as well as group items such as credit card information and electronic funds transfer (EFT).

Security Compliance
The STK Toolkit gives you the flexibility you need to comply with industry security standards such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Acts, SAS 70, SB 1386 and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

PCI DSS Compliance
For many retailers and payment processors, achieving PCI DSS compliance has been difficult. According to a recent white paper, nearly 80% of the companies that underwent a PCI assessment failed "Requirement 3: Protect stored cardholder data." The STK Toolkit has the power to meet PCI requirements for encryption and key management including 3.3, 3.4, 3.5 and 3.6. For more information about how the STK Toolkit can protect sensitive data, read more.

Algorithms Supported
STK Toolkit gives you a wide range of capabilities to protect and authenticate data including Triple DES (112 bits), AES (128, 192, 256 bits) and X9.71 HMAC.

Key Management Capabilities
The STK Toolkit gives you the flexibility to implement key management in a variety of ways, depending on your needs. An interactive key management program accepts the entry of encryption and authentication keys using up to three separate components, and stores them in a highly secure format.

Subroutines Speed Development
A library of subroutines and ready-to-use utilities saves programming time and speeds up your project. The STK Toolkit comes with more than 50 security-related subroutines and includes a description of each one. Parameters are specified and sample calls from many high-level programming languages are provided.

Support for Most Environments
You can use the STK Toolkit with a variety of operating systems and programming languages. It runs on a wide range of operating systems including Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX, Linux, zOS and OS/400. You can call subroutines from programs written in the following languages: C, C+, C++, Java, COBOL, Visual Basic, RPG and other high-level languages. The toolkit translates to and from ASCII and EBCDIC, and HEX and binary.
